Companioning
Bearing Witness with Love
This week in our family, a precious life was lost much too early.
Now is the time of companioning.
The time to “Be With” and witness the grief emerging from ruptured hearts.
The time to listen with tenderness, openness, curiosity and humility. I cannot know the journey of another soul, but I can show up and bear witness to the traveler on the path no one asked to trod.
This is the time to walk beside, to accompany, to assist with the daily tasks of care, to nourish the body so it can withstand the weight of grief. To create small, soft places to land when it is time to rest.
This is the time to lean into love and trust it will lead us through the wilderness.
We miss you, Mary. Your life was a blessing and may your memory be as well.

Dear Kathleen,
